The Best Conditions for Evaporative Cooling Geelong

Is evaporative cooling the right choice when considering air conditioning in Ballarat and Geelong? Excellent energy efficiency and low costs may make it seem like a sure winner, but there are climates in which evaporative cooling performs better than others.

Is evaporative cooling the right choice when considering air conditioning in Ballarat and Geelong? Excellent energy efficiency and low costs may make it seem like a sure winner, but there are climates in which evaporative cooling performs better than others. With four decades of experience in cooling Geelong, Ballarat, Bacchus Marsh and Melbourne, G.J. Bradding can explain in more detail.

Air Conditioning Ballarat and Geelong

To explain why evaporative cooling is better suited to some places than others it helps to first explore how it works. Evaporative cooling results in water evaporation and energy being removed from the air. A pump circulates water from a reservoir to a cooling pad which becomes wet. A fan draws air through the damp pad, the moisture evaporates, and the air is cooled. This clean, cool air is then circulated through the home, expelling stale air in the process.

Air and Humidity

Evaporative cooling is both a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative to refrigerated air conditioning and is great for homes whose inhabitants are prone to allergies. It isn’t always the best option, however, especially in climates that are already humid. Existing humidity in the air makes it difficult for any further water vapour absorption to occur.

Summer Cooling Geelong and Ballarat

Optimal conditions for the use of evaporative cooling are climates with dry summers. This type of cooling system will work best in areas with very low humidity ratios. Evaporative cooling is well-suited to the climate in Australian states such as South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria. Even on occasions when there is humid weather in Victoria, opening a door or window should provide sufficient ventilation for the system to work efficiently. G.J. Bradding recommends getting in touch with us so we can give you expert advice on your options. You can then decide if evaporative cooling is the right fit for you.
